Welcome to the Edmonton Abortion Recovery Centre

The Abortion Recovery Centre is located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is dedicated to providing comfort, healing and hope to women who have had an abortion in their past. We are compassionate, non-judgmental and safe. For women who have had an abortion and are experiencing difficult emotional reactions these disturbances can seem like they are “going crazy”. We offer a companioning model of peer support, walking alongside you becoming familiar with your abortion story.

Post abortion grief is the internal response to thoughts and feelings which result from an abortion. Abortion is a baby loss and as such, your feelings demand for mourning that loss in a healthy way. These painful internal thoughts and emotions require your attention, and will keep trying to get your attention until you give it the care it demands and deserves.

Whether you have had a recent abortion and are experiencing strong “negative” emotions, or whether your abortion was years ago, healing is possible.  You are not alone.
